Getting There & Where To Stay

Avoca is a 90 min drive north from Sydney or an 80 min drive south from Newcastle. Alternatively, you can take a train from Central Station in Sydney to Gosford and alight for a bus to Avoca Beach - the travelling time is a little over two hours in total.

You will find a range of accomodation options in and around Avoca Beach, from secluded cabanas at The Palms at Avoca to luxury serviced apartments, holiday homes and glampsites hidden in the surrounding hillside. Avoca Beach Hotel is another popular option, located less than 2km from the beautiful Avoca Beach.

Where Are We Located

6 Cliff Ave,

What Types Of Whales

The most common whales seen on our cruises are Humpback whales, however we have seen Southern Right whales, Minkes, Orcas, and Pilot Whales. The most entertaining is of course the beautiful Humpbacks, we see them every day.

What Other Marine Life

We normally see marine wildlife which can include dolphins, seals and eagles. There is also a colony of Fairy Penguins in the bay and occasionally we spot them out fishing.

What To Bring

Hat – Sunglasses – Sunscreen – Binoculars – Camera – Extra batteries – Water bottle (no glass please) – Snacks and/or lunch (if not provided) – Wear flat shoes – Rain jacket – Windbreaker.

What About Motion Sickness

We all must remember, we are out on the open ocean and it is always better to come prepared. Visit your chemist or doctor for sea sickness tablets/remedies.

What Happens If It Rains

Light rain is no problem, as we have undercover enclosed areas keeping you warm and protected. Bring a spray jacket if it looks like rain. In heavy rain and rough conditions, for your own safety we do not go to sea and we will refund you 100% so you can re-book another day..
